And finally, stick by your guns until someone can prove you wrong with facts or data. If new data comes up then rethink your position" That sounds like the scientific method. Something of which I quite firmly believe and place great amounts of trust in.
Thanks for the blog post! =D It's appreciatedAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2207076947655236975.post-78016671969548522882012-01-27T16:48:11.002+09:002012-01-27T16:48:11.002+09:00One more thing: The emperor has no clothes. It's so damn easy to simply respond that you don't care what the other person says when you are challenged.

It's also easy to refuse to debate, or to demand terms for a debate that are ridiculous, knowing full well the demands can't be met, thus avoiding debate.

It's simple and easy to not answer a question because the questioner has not been published or for some other nonsensical arbitrary reason. It's difficult to enter the field of intellectual battle and answer critics, and easy to post your opinions and ignore that you maybe just might not be 100% correct all the time.

It's the sign of a coward, an intellectual coward, who refuses to answer questions and refuses to enter the fray.Andy "In Japan"https://www.blogger.com/profile/04505038501136945817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2207076947655236975.post-68779971572365857492012-01-27T15:03:33.259+09:002012-01-27T15:03:33.259+09:00Mike... the timing of your blog is amazing! Just l...Mike... the timing of your blog is amazing! Just last night I wrote a draft complaining about a couple of people criticizing my blog. I even deleted their comments - one for racist comments and the other for using profanity when calling me an idiot. You can call me an idiot or whatever, but not use profanity. Still... the comments bothered me. I'm still going to publish it within the next 24 hours, but I think I do suffer from a fragile ego. It's not so much if people hate me or my writing, but that those supposedly closest to me do not bother to read what I write for fear that my topic doesn't interest them. Silly people don't realize that when I write about myself 20 years ago, I actually write about myself today, and how I am thinking, or what I am thinking.
Still... you have written some food for thought and it is advice I will do my best to adhere to.
CheersAndrew Josephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15063234777548462157noreply@blogger.com
