Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Christmas Cakes in Japan Go For $43 (USD)!!!

Today is November 9, 2010. I just came back from the grocery store. The store is called Maruetsu and it is one of the cheaper grocery stores around. They are selling Christmas cakes. In Japan, over-worked Japanese husbands buy Christmas cakes to take home every year...

These things are outrageously priced. ¥3580 is about $43 (USD). They have everything for the kids: Pokemon, etc., etc....

Well, after all, it is Christmas... ¥3580 for a Christmas cake doesn't seem so bad....

They even have different designs that the kids will like! Yeah! ¥3580 isn't so bad after all, right?

Jeez! Are you kiddin' me? Is that a cake or is that just a big cup cake for $43 (USD)?

Seriously, folks, that cake is about 7 inches across (17.8 cm)!!!!

I’m just one of many bloggers who answer questions online and sometimes for the press.
