Worried About Nuclear Radiation?

Ray Hearn, a foreigner who owns an independent music label and concert promotion company (Beat Ink) recently just sent me this great chart demonstrating radiation levels & why he didn't run away: he bothered to get informed.

  1. You know Mike, every comment you make about a foreigner "shitting" his pants would hold a lot more weight if you weren't posting your friend's resumes around and close blogging buddies with an executive search firm.

All this just makes you come off like a douche with an agenda. Tone it down a bit.

  2. Thanks Anonymous,

Thanks for the advice. I come off as a douche bag with an agenda? Because I am friends with a guy who runs an Exec Search company? And I post "my friend's" resume.
    1) I don't know about you, but I choose my friends by strength of their character, not by their job title.
    2) I didn't post anyone's resume. Where did I do that?
    3) This blog is mine, not yours. I can do what I want. If you want to read junk that has no opinion, then you are in the wrong place, my friend.
    4) I own my own company, and have, since 1992... What agenda?
I will duly note your "advice" (rationalize for your actions) I will stop kicking people who panicked and left. I have taken them to task already many times. The chickens are coming home to roost without my comments.

  3. Oh and, PS: "Douchebag"?... Hmm, Okay. Been called much worse many times. If the shoes fits... I guess I gotta wear it.

  4. If it matters, I didn't think it was douchebag behavior, not by a long shot.

Also, future managers (or any leaders) could learn something from this.

  5. Since your blog is about marketing, here's a link on the future of the solar power industry (and by inference, the fate of the nuclear power industry) by a guy who runs the numbers at the Scientific American blog:

  6. hi Mike, do you maybe know the current status of the radiation in the water? I will go to Japan very soon. Is it safe for taking a bath? Do you have any idea if boiling the water will reduce the radiation? I am worried about the kids.. Thx

Comments must be succinct & relevant to the story. Comments are checked frequently and abusive, rude or profane comments will be deleted. I’m just one of many bloggers who answer questions online and sometimes for the press. I usually handle questions about Japan, marketing or the economy, so in those areas I’m more likely to make sense and less likely to say something really stupid. If I post something here that you find helpful or interesting, that’s wonderful. This is my personal blog. If you don't like what you have read here then, just like when you go into a restaurant or bar that allows smoking, if you don't like it, there's something at the front that has hinges on it and it is called a "door."
