Move Over McDonald's! Japanese Restaurant Serves Up REAL Fish Burger!


Yeah, you can't make this stuff up. A restaurant in Kyoto serves up a mean (and mean-looking) Ayu (Sweet Fish) burger!

Actually this might surprise westerners, but there are several varieties of fish that can be eaten whole in Japan, and Ayu is one of them. Looks delicious!

    Dude... I loved to eat ayu. In Ohtawara-shi, Tochigi-ken, We would catch it fresh in the local rivers by blocking up the waters so they had to travel through a narrow channel... pick'em up, skewer them and roast them - and eat them up yum!
    I am so jealous of the people in Kyoto.

    I used to be a hard core fisherman, and I have an Iron stomach, and I had no problem with whatever the locals in Osaka shoved my way, ...but I'm not sure I could eat that.

    It gives_dog_bone? Eh?

    If I saw others go first,... maybe.

    I guess it's not like that buried and fermented shark the Icelanders think of as a delicacy.

    And here I thought I was once being risk'a by eating fish tacos. HA!

    Oh man, you must have been well off when you went to T.J.?

    All I could afford was the 25 Cent tacos the roach wagons sold.

    My wing man and I lived on them for a time.

    They were piled high with cilantro and I so miss them to this day.
    The next day we would eat oranges growing in the roadside, and do it all over again the next night.

    It was The Funest Time Ever!!!

    I swore I'd never go back to the unitedstate.
    But I failed to find an income source. That was one of my greatest regrets. The damn unitedstate border guards almost didn't let me back in too.
    The bastards.

    I had some fish tacos in San Diego that were out of this world, but I imagine they didn't compare to something that was offered by the free market in T.J.

    I've heard that T.J. has changed considerably since I was there. That's a shame. ...Even the alley ways were fun back then.

    My fondest memory of that place and time was kissing a girl under a light post.
    Ya know, it's hard to believe that was higher up than a fish taco, but it was.
