Mt. Fuji Jan. 1, 2015 - Happy New Year!

Shot of Mt. Fuji Jan. 1, 2015 from Isehara in Kanagawa.
I think Mt. Fuji is the definitive photo of Japan for New Year's day.

Happy New Year!

  3. Blog got me researching (Mount) Fuji(-san): 3 oceanic plates intersect it, a 707 jet crashed on it in 1966, it erupted in 1707, low chance of eruption but still labeled active, its cold (average in January is minus 7 °F. It makes me wonder why there is almost no wildlife in Aokigahara forest at its base.

  4. Three plus years in Japan... various trips past it... snow, rain, fog, cloud, smog... never saw Mount Fuji. I don't think it really exists.

Comments must be succinct & relevant to the story. Comments are checked frequently and abusive, rude or profane comments will be deleted. I’m just one of many bloggers who answer questions online and sometimes for the press. I usually handle questions about Japan, marketing or the economy, so in those areas I’m more likely to make sense and less likely to say something really stupid. If I post something here that you find helpful or interesting, that’s wonderful. This is my personal blog. If you don't like what you have read here then, just like when you go into a restaurant or bar that allows smoking, if you don't like it, there's something at the front that has hinges on it and it is called a "door."
