USA Attacks Yakuza! War breaks out!

In an executive order that went out on Monday, US president Obama declared a national emergency in order so that the USA could fight the Yakuza.

LUPIN THE THIRD
Japan's most famous cartoon Yakuza

Obama said, "These organizations facilitate and aggravate violent civil conflicts and increasingly facilitate the activities of other dangerous persons. " Ha! Ha! Ha! Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

On July 24th, President Barack Obama declared war on the yakuza (ヤクザ)aka The Japanese mafia, in an executive order which stated that “(the yakuza) are becoming increasingly sophisticated and dangerous to the United States; they are increasingly entrenched in the operations of foreign governments and the international financial system, thereby weakening democratic institutions, degrading the rule of law, and undermining economic markets.  These organizations facilitate and aggravate violent civil conflicts and increasingly facilitate the activities of other dangerous persons.  I therefore determine that significant transnational criminal organizations constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States, and hereby declare a national emergency to deal with that threat.

So the USA, the world's biggest criminal organization decides that the Yakuza are a threat? Really? I'd care to debate that issue. I don't think in the entire history of the Yakuza could they have killed or robbed nearly as many people as the United States does on a daily basis.

Nope. The Yakuza could never hold a candle to the criminal institution that is the United Sates government.

It is though, cool (in a twisted sense), to see these Yakuza guys getting some foreign recognition finally. Might just increase the interest in and mystique of Japan.

By the way, I know a few Yakuza pretty well. I wrote about a very close experience with one I still see from time to time here in "Yazuka: Japan's Modern Day Cowboys".

The Yakuza have always been nice to me and very friendly. But, as my friend said about one Yakuza boss we both know well (and like), "Yeah. He is a very nice guy. The scariest ones are always the nicest ones."

Fact is, I'm meeting this Yakuza on Saturday night and will drink with him. I'll ask him what he thinks of this and maybe he'll have a funny answer.

He usually does... I mean, after all, he is a really nice guy.

  1. I got along very well with my local Yakuza in Ohtawara. He bought me a drink and didn't have me killed. What's not to like! I was hoping you would write on this topic!

  2. That Yakuza story of yours was a really good read.

I got the impression the Yakuza is more of a tribe than a gang in the modern westernized sense.

That the unitedstate goberment would be going after the Yakuza specifically and characterize them as no different from the Crips or the Bloods, trends and runs parallel with what the writers at The Daily Bell are saying about the tribes in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Anglo Power Elite wish to destroy all remnants of the tribal nature of mankind and rule over the remaining Peoples and put in place their version of power, i.e. central banks and the rule of men as opposed to the rule of law or natural rights. Tribes get in the way of that power shift, especially those tribes which have successfully resisted such as in Pakistan and Afghanistan, maybe Japan too?

A number of People have suggested the reason why you didn't have widespread looting and other crime after the tsunami and meltdown was due to the influence of the Yakuza, but I don't know for sure. It seems likely.

Also, many People in the Prepper world suggest that forming tribal-like relations with the other People in ones area is a good way to survive and thrive once an economic collapse or other unforeseen event alters or disrupts the political and police power structure or food and electrical/gas/fuel distribution networks.

The Anglo Power Elite do not want People relying on themselves and their social networks (their position of power depends on populations depending upon them alone) so they'll do anything to change the perceptions People have about tribes in general.
Interesting stuff, how this world works.

And originally I was just going to write the first sentence.

  3. Kinda interesting how you can substitute the word Yakuza with the US government. "The US Government is becoming increasingly ..."

  4. Dang, I always forget to add a name or at least a nic to the stuff I post. Please pardon my error(s) as I don't have a Google Account or an OpenID. I know you and many People don't like the endless stream of, "Anonymous said..."

So, my preferred nic is, Clark.

Using Clark helps to keep bricks from finding their way into the windshield of my car. It's really no fun when that happens after using your real name. Of course the NSA knows, but they're not into brick throwing, but I'm sure they'll come up with other fun stuff on down the line. ...At least a study of history tells us they probably will.

  5. Lupin is Yakuza? I thought he was independent. Similiar to Ocean's 11-type of lovable criminal. Won't the Yakuza get a little annoyed by that?

(Not that I'm complaining. Any excuse to play Lupin OST is good enough for me. I heard Spielberg has that Cagliostro car chase scene as his favorite car chase of the movies. :)

  7. Aahh... They are just doing that so they can send CIA or some other slimy people to spy in Japan or cause trouble.

In addition Obama can do things that he could not do normally unless he declares a national emergency.

I wonder if they feel like starting a armed conflict with Japan. They are doing that every where else.

  8. i have a very profound knowledge of the yakuza. i have studied them very well, and i understand them very well too.
i think one of the reasons, the useless dreaming president obama, has got YAKUZA as one of it's targets is because the japanese government hardly shares any intelligence with the FBI about the yakuza. and i think they are doing the right thing by not sharing much with the FBI because, at the end of the day, YAKUZA are semi-legit organizations in japan, there is no other so called crime syndicate, or in my view an organization like them in the whole world. they have their bad and good side, they just recently sent god knows how many tons of food for the tsunami victims, and thats only 1 of many examples of their good side.
the USA as nosy as they are, is getting really pissed off. but you know what i say fuck the USA they cannot touch the yakuza. and as andrew joseph said the usa themselves are the worlds biggest criminal organization. and if there are any sides to take, i will with no doubt get on the yakuza's side. and for those who are gonna attack me cause of their ignorance, im not glamourising the yakuza. i think they should exist no matter what all the cowards think of them in japanese society. and yes there is not much street crime in japan because of them thats a fact!
