Top 3 New Video Countdown for Sept. 26, 2020! Micko & Mellotronics, The Rocky Ts, Annie Taylor!

We're back to the Top3 new Video Countdown for Sept. 26, 2020!

BIG NEWS! Please check my new webpage! You can check it out at www.MikeRogersShow.com! There you can find all sorts of information about the show AND my new Youtube page chock full of videos! Please check it out! www.MikeRogersShow.com

The first song up this week is from a band from London and they are called, Micko & the Mellotronics. Their bio states: "The Mellotronics formed in 2017 with the intention of turning Micko Westmoreland’s songwriting skills into a dynamic live prospect. Since then they’ve been busy cutting their teeth with a series of shows around the capital and beyond, making return visits to the 100 Club in Oxford Street and earning multiple requests for support slots from acts as established as Evan Dando (Lemonheads), David Devant & His Spirit Wife, Blue Orchids, Sheep on Drugs, The Television Personalities and The Monochrome Set."

They have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MickoMellotronic

Nest up is a band introduced to me by Rodney Bingenheimer and Kona Cindy! It's the Rockyts. These guys are all like 16 years old!

2) The Rockyts - All of the Time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtN59n5HtZM&ab_channel=TheRockytsVEVO

At #1 from Switzerland is Annie Taylor. Annie has been getting heavy airplay on the Mike Rogers Show, in fact, I even did one show on Love FM in Japan where I featured, maybe 8 tracks from this fab artist!

Their bio states: "Switzerland’s Annie Taylor are back less than a year after the release of their debut EP ‘Not Yours!’ with their fuzzy yet acerbic debut album Sweet Mortality. The band initially came into existence in 2017 releasing two singles 'Partner in Crime' and 'Wasted Youth', before taking themselves on a tour of Italy, France and Switzerland. It was while settling down to record their debut EP ‘Not Yours!’ that the core members vocalist and guitarist Gini Jungi and bassist Michael Mutter brought on board the guitar of Tobias Arn and drums of Jan Winkler. The addition of the two new members shifted the band’s sound away from the rock-tinged pop of their early releases, instead drenching it in a heavier psychedelic wash, gaining the band comparisons to Warpaint or early Hole, and catching the ears of The 405, Soundblab and For The Rabbits. Released via Taxi Gauche Records, ‘Not Yours!’ also featured artwork created by Dominic Foster, also known for his work with The Coral."

About Mike in Tokyo Rogers: Mike has been a professional music/TV/radio/anime-related program producer in Japan since the eighties.

He began in the music business in 1977 as lead vocalist with the legendary Los Angeles Punk Band, “The Rotters” (Sit on My Face Stevie Nix.).

As a university student, he was assistant to the legendary Rodney Bingenheimer (Rodney on the ROQ – KROQ Los Angeles from 1980 ~ 1981.)

Mike was the first and only foreigner in Japanese history to become the General Manager of a major Japanese broadcasting station (TV Tokyo owned InterFM). Has produced a few smash hit programs (some real losers, too!) and several of Tokyo’s highest-rated and most famous radio programs.

A recent hit Internet TV program was “The TV Show” (Set Program with “Ninja Slayer”) which, between April – Oct. 2015, garnered over 10 million viewers.

He is currently producing and hosting “The Mike Rogers Show” daily around the world!

Also, Mike is the creator and founder of the Raindance Japan Film & VR Festival.

Also his life’s dream is his full-length motion picture, “Ghostroads – A Japanese Rock and Roll Ghost Story,” which enjoyed its World-Premiere at the Raindance Film Festival in London on Sept. 25, 2017, and was released by a major Japanese motion picture company and in theaters all across Japan from Sept. 2017 ~ Mar. 2018.  The DVD and Blu-Ray went on sale all across Japan on June 13, 2018!

His next project, “Matsuchiyo – Life of a Geisha” world premiered at the 2018 Raindance Film Festival in Oct. 2018.

Mike is also an Official Jury member to the Raindance Film Festival in London making him the first person ever to serve as a Jury Member from Japan in Raindance Film Festival history. …

Oh, and he likes to write about himself in the third person! Past radio shows can be found on Mixcloud: https://www.mixcloud.com/mikerogersshow

Comments must be succinct & relevant to the story. Comments are checked frequently and abusive, rude or profane comments will be deleted. I’m just one of many bloggers who answer questions online and sometimes for the press. I usually handle questions about Japan, marketing or the economy, so in those areas I’m more likely to make sense and less likely to say something really stupid. If I post something here that you find helpful or interesting, that’s wonderful. This is my personal blog. If you don't like what you have read here then, just like when you go into a restaurant or bar that allows smoking, if you don't like it, there's something at the front that has hinges on it and it is called a "door."
