First up today is a band from Chicago called Suzy Moon. This is Suzi's solo work as she is the lead singer of the Turbulent Hearts!

Here's their Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheSuziMoon

Next up is a track sent to me directly from this artist and it is not his first time on our charts. It is DJ Trotsky from Los Angeles. DJ Trotsky's bio says: "DJ Trotsky is a Los Angeles based songwriter, producer and mixer creating emotionally authentic pop, electronic, rock and dance music."

2) DJ Trotsky - god will you say if you still love me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qb21zHvv62w

At #1 this week is a song introduced to us by DJ Alex Kish way over at Wassup Rocker Radio. It is an artist called, Janelane from Los Angeles. He bio says: "Janelane is the music project of Los Angeles-born singer and songwriter, Sophie Negrini. Her contrasting blend of pop hooks and shimmery guitars with profound, melancholic lyrics is romantic, nostalgic, and incredibly addictive. Despite being raised by two opera-singing parents, it was rock music that Negrini found solace in at a young age.... In late 2015, Negrini was recruited as a touring lead guitarist in punk rock band, Peach Kelli Pop. After 3 years of touring across Europe, Japan, and America, Negrini shifted her focus to Janelane completely, and began recording a plethora of new music." You'll be hearing this on the Mike Rogers Show soon!

SPOTLIGHT ARTIST! Today's spotlight artist is one of Japan's legendary Girls Bands and their name is Petty Booka. From Wikipedia: "Petty Booka is a Japanese musical group that consists of two women, Petty and Booka, who sing and play ukulele...The two also do many covers of well-known rock songs. Petty Booka was part of Sister Benten Online, a record company run by Audrey "Benten" Kimura. ...The current "Petty" and "Booka" hail from Chiba and Saitama, Japan. [1] The band has performed several times at the U.S. music festival SXSW as part of the Japan Nite event."

Today's video is a bit older, but this is FANTASTIC! I stumbled upon this as Audrey Kimura is the boss of SXSW Japan Nite and a Jury member for the Ninja Indies Music Awards show in Japan!

About Mike in Tokyo Rogers: Mike has been a professional music/TV/radio/anime-related program producer in Japan since the eighties.

He began in the music business in 1977 as lead vocalist with the legendary Los Angeles Punk Band, “The Rotters” (Sit on My Face Stevie Nix.).

As a university student, he was assistant to the legendary Rodney Bingenheimer (Rodney on the ROQ – KROQ Los Angeles from 1980 ~ 1981.)

Mike was the first and only foreigner in Japanese history to become the General Manager of a major Japanese broadcasting station (TV Tokyo owned InterFM). Has produced a few smash hit programs (some real losers, too!) and several of Tokyo’s highest-rated and most famous radio programs.

A recent hit Internet TV program was “The TV Show” (Set Program with “Ninja Slayer”) which, between April – Oct. 2015, garnered over 10 million viewers.

He is currently producing and hosting “The Mike Rogers Show” daily around the world!

Also, Mike is the creator and founder of the Raindance Japan Film & VR Festival.

Also his life’s dream is his full-length motion picture, “Ghostroads – A Japanese Rock and Roll Ghost Story,” which enjoyed its World-Premiere at the Raindance Film Festival in London on Sept. 25, 2017, and was released by a major Japanese motion picture company and in theaters all across Japan from Sept. 2017 ~ Mar. 2018.  The DVD and Blu-Ray went on sale all across Japan on June 13, 2018!

His next project, “Matsuchiyo – Life of a Geisha” world premiered at the 2018 Raindance Film Festival in Oct. 2018.

Mike is also an Official Jury member to the Raindance Film Festival in London making him the first person ever to serve as a Jury Member from Japan in Raindance Film Festival history. …

Comments must be succinct & relevant to the story. Comments are checked frequently and abusive, rude or profane comments will be deleted. I’m just one of many bloggers who answer questions online and sometimes for the press. I usually handle questions about Japan, marketing or the economy, so in those areas I’m more likely to make sense and less likely to say something really stupid. If I post something here that you find helpful or interesting, that’s wonderful. This is my personal blog. If you don't like what you have read here then, just like when you go into a restaurant or bar that allows smoking, if you don't like it, there's something at the front that has hinges on it and it is called a "door."
