Hiroshima Day - Horrific Short Animations for Japanese Schoolchildren

The first nuclear attack on the civilian city of Hiroshima happened today in 1945.

Here are two horrifying cartoons made for Japanese schoolchildren to explain about what happened during the attack. 

The information says: "An epic historic cartoon produced for school children about the day Hiroshima was bombed as seen from the Japanese perspective. English subtitles for those of you who do not speak Japanese and for those of you with short attention spans this is a very short film."

I am also making a special program just for the fans of Ninja Slayer and that show premieres on that new "Ninja Slayer" show! It's a special program in a program. I t's still Top Secret, but I can share some tidbits. Yesterday, we had a shoot and did some video production and several beautiful Japanese girls came to the studio and dropped our jaws with their Ninja antics as well as their swim suit photo session!

It's Mother's Day in Japan. Everyone! Call your mother and tell her just how much you appreciate her and all she's done for you. Tell her you love her.

After that, hug your spouse and kids!

My dear friend Ken Nishikawa sent me this wonderful short animation of life in Japan. 

The story shows a pendulum in a clock swinging back and forth as it goes through the life of a young man and woman who meet in high school then grow up, get married, have a family then die. It is very touching. Enjoy!

Also, I'd like to play you what I think is the best Mother's Day song (perhaps the only one) ever made.

My mom died in a bizarre car accident 17 years ago. One day she was here, the next second, she was gone.

This actually has rhythm too. Some Japanese artists really make some great stuff - especially when it comes to animation type of things. 

The Greatest Cartoon Ever Made was NOT Japanese Anime!

What was the greatest cartoon ever made? I'm sure it is debatable, but it doesn't seem like it was a Japanese cartoon with its limited animation techniques. It had to be an old one from the glory days of animation.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think (and others agree) that the greatest cartoon ever made was undoubtably "One Froggy Evening" a cartoon that was released on Dec. 31, 1955. Many critics have called this the "greatest cartoon ever made."

Distrust of Romantica by Hitoshi Suenaga

It is called Electronic Theater and is a class of post-expressionism. This particular item is a very Avante-Garde black and white cartoon called, "Distrust of Romantica" by Hitoshi Suenaga in 2001. Don't watch it more than twice, you'll have nightmares.
