We're back for another Top 3 Video Countdown for August 10, 2019!

The first band up today is from Australia and they are called the Goldhearts!
The Goldhearts bio states: "The Goldhearts formed on the Gold Coast in early 2015, with debut live shows on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney in April. The project began when Indie music survivor/songwriter Margy Joughin moved from Brisbane to the Gold Coast. Stepping away from her usual duties on bass and backing vox, she cooked up a solo project and worked with acclaimed Australian producer Govinda Doyle (Angus and Julia Stone – Big Jet Plane). Together they created an engaging album of tunes equal parts indie pop grunge alt-country twang."

At #2 this week is Kyle Falconer from the band "The View." He is joined on this track by new sensation, Alissa Janine doing the rap! We all know the View and Kyle Falconer! But I want to direct your attention to Ms. Alissa Janine! Her Facebook page only has 92 Likes, but I am calling it now! She will become a big star! Mark my words!

Her bio states: "Alissa Janine Wollmann is an aspiring Rnb singer and song writer. She describes her music as “ a crossbreed of melodic hip hop and dark rhythmic trap with distinct notes of feminine pop “. Her first step in the music Industry was through her Thailand’s got Talent audition in 2016 where she received the golden buzzer. Her main goal in music is to create variety in hip hop and inspire young creative minds to follow their passion and dare to be different, both musically and Individually. Janine is currently studying music production and performance at dBs Music Berlin to support her song writing skills and strengthen her artistic abilities."

At #1 this week is the brainchild of one Natalie Denise Sperl. The band's name is Kill My Coquette. The story goes that Natalie Denise Sperl made her way to Hollywood, clawing her way to starring roles in cult horror flicks, studio films, and hit TV shows. This is her band!

I chatted with Ms. Sperl on Facebook the other day and she said to me that this was a message to Quentin Tarantino and that she really does want to be in his movies! I replied, "Well asking don't cost nuttin'! It's a great song!"

You can hear this song on my radio show starting tomorrow!

They are the Noodles and they are happening! I saw them perform at Shinjuku Loft's 20th Anniversary on August 1 along with the Stephanies. Their bio states: "In 1991, four young girls gathered to start the band Noodles, performing their first shows in Yokohama. In 1995, the girls wrote and recorded a song for a Coca-Cola commercial. The song became a big hit and was a radio favorite throughout Japan. In March, 2003, they opened for their heroes, The Breeders, in Osaka. Later that year, Noodles started to branch out overseas by performing at the CMJ Music Marathon. They have since been back to the States for two US tours and have appeared at SXSW two years in a row."

About Mike in Tokyo Rogers: Mike has been a professional music/TV/radio/anime-related program producer in Japan since the eighties. He began in the music business in 1977 as lead vocalist with the legendary Los Angeles Punk Band, “The Rotters” (Sit on My Face Stevie Nix.). As a university student, he was assistant to the legendary Rodney Bingenheimer (Rodney on the ROQ – KROQ Los Angeles from 1980 ~ 1981.) Mike was the first and only foreigner in Japanese history to become the General Manager of a major Japanese broadcasting station (TV Tokyo owned InterFM). Has produced a few smash hit programs (some real losers, too!) and several of Tokyo’s highest rated and most famous radio programs. A recent hit Internet TV program was “The TV Show” (Set Program with “Ninja Slayer”) which, between April – Oct. 2015, garnered over 10 million viewers.  He is currently producing and hosting “The Mike Rogers Show” daily around the world!

Also, Mike is the creator and founder of the Mt. Fuji – Atami Film & VR Festival. Also his life’s dream is his just completed full-length motion picture, “Ghostroads – A Japanese Rock and Roll Ghost Story,” which enjoyed its World-Premiere at the Raindance Film Festival in London on Sept. 25, 2017, and was released by a major Japanese motion picture company and in theaters all across Japan from Sept. 2017 ~ Mar. 2018.  The DVD and Blu-Ray went on sale all across Japan on June 13, 2018! His next project, “Matsuchiyo – Life of a Geisha” world premiered at the 2018 Raindance Film Festival in Oct. 2018.
Mike is also an Official Jury member to the 2018 Raindance Film Festival in London making him the first person ever to serve as a Jury Member from Japan in Raindance Film Festival history.

… Oh, and he likes to write about himself in the third person!
