Idiot People and Cultural Superiority Complex

This will come as no surprise to anyone, but there are some really stupid people running around. The surprise to me is how these stupid people have gainful employment or even live the upper-class life.

Today is a typical example of one. He represents just one more person (a microcosm that represents the whole) of why the USA is collapsing as the ruling class fails to understand the working class or poor people (the rapidly expanding portion of the US population).

The guy is a writer named Ben Stein. This guy is so full of himself and living in such a sheltered world that it defies explanation. Wikipedia says:

Benjamin Jeremy "Ben" Stein (born November 25, 1944) is an American actor, writer, lawyer, and commentator on political and economic issues. He attained early success as a speechwriter for American presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. Later he entered the entertainment field and became an actor, comedian, and Emmy Award-winning game show host.
Stein has frequently written commentaries on economic, political, and social issues, along with financial advice to individual investors.

Hmmm? He was born in 1944 and was a speechwriter for president Nixon? Then a game show host? What a tool! This guy is a real life joke.

Now he writes for the American Spectator? Well, we all know how wealthy magazine writers are by how their numbers of subscribers are rapidly expanding! Ha! Ha! Ha!

By the way, Nixon was president from 1969 to 1974... So, I think this "speechwriter" for Nixon is an exaggeration. They are saying that a 26 ~ 30 year old guy was a "speechwriter" for a US president? I find that hard to believe. I might believe that he wrote a speech, or a few speeches, but "speechwriter" suggests that he wrote many speeches and was on staff, no?...

Doesn't that stretch the imagination a bit?

Anyway... Besides exaggeration and the ability to bloviate his past record (why anyone would brag about writing stuff for that other slick talking president Ford), Stein has written a piece criticizing the Occupy Wall Street Movement. I am not pro or anti Wall Street Occupation. My personal opinion is that this occupation won't last (especially when it starts to get cold, or will just wind up as a bunch more homeless people in New York. There's lots of those so what's a few thousand more in a city of millions?) But, I am happy that people are waking up in the USA finally.

Anyhow, Stein criticizes these people. I have no problem with that, but I do have a problem with his holiness and his cultural superiority complex.

He writes in the American Spectator:

Wednesday

So... today rain came down in sheets here in Los Angeles. As I walked down Camden Drive in Beverly Hills after a righteous lunch at Mister Chow, the wind was forcing the rain at me horizontally. I got soaked. Earlier, my wife had slipped and fallen on the wet, slippery floor of a parking garage. No one in the garage made a move to help her. I, of course, picked her up and said to the parking attendant, "You're pretty stupid. That woman who fell is the only woman in Beverly Hills who wouldn't sue you for that slip. You might at least thank her and help her."
He shrugged and said something in Spanish.

Laughable. "Righteous lunch at Mister Chow"? Are you kidding me? Did you get a free lunch for this shameless plug?....
On top of that, he actually wrote this crap:

No one in the garage made a move to help her. I, of course, picked her up and said to the parking attendant, You’re pretty stupid. That woman who fell is the only woman in Beverly Hills who wouldn’t sue you for that slip. You might at least thank her and help her.

What's he want the guy to say? "Thank you, ma'am for falling. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Can I help you fall again?" What an idiot Ben Stein is. I can't believe that he writes such drivel. The attendant is "....pretty stupid. That woman who fell is the only woman in Beverly Hills who wouldn’t sue you for that slip."

Gee, if he wants car parking service, he should use the valet parking.

Riiiiiight! This rich woman from Beverly Hills and her husband is going to sue some Hispanic parking lot attendant because the wife slipped on the parking lot floor? Heavens!

Sue the parking lot attendant for what? The $80 a week he makes?

Ben Stein is the only "stupid" person in this picture, wouldn't you agree? (Maybe that's what the attendant replied in Spanish).

Ben Stein! Planet earth is calling you. Time to get back to the real world. If you don't like it, why don't you go crying to daddy? Or, perhaps, learn some Spanish, honky, like the more than 55% of the people in Southern California speak!

Stein is pretty much indicative of why the USA is so messed up and how white people (OK, he's Jewish, so what?) fail to - or don't even attempt to - understand the way the lower middle class and poor people live. That's why things in the USA keep getting worse.

Sue a parking lot attendant in court, indeed!

Stein! Conseguir una vida! (Get a life!)

*Mr. Stein, if you don't like this article by a nobody blogger... I'm sure you can seek a lawyer... I mean, after you win your court case of Stein vs. Parking Lot Attendant.

Japan Still Makes the Best Cars in the World

The verdict is in! Japan still makes the best cars in the world! Japan! Cars! Quality!
GARY NUMAN - CARS
In spite of all the problems reported in the main stream US-based mass media with Japanese cars being recalled and other alleged problems with accelerators and mechanical parts, Consumer Reports shows that Japanese cars, using a 10-year scale measuring reliability, beat out all the competition.

Well, I thought Japan still meant "quality." I'm glad to see my suspicions confirmed.

Before anyone wants to jump on me about accelerator problems in Toyotas, let me show you evidence that this was not true at all and a US Transportation Department 10-month study showed that there were no problems at all with electronics or mechanical parts in Toyota's. It was all media hype.

My 2004 Toyota. Driven everyday for the last 7
years and never been in the shop for repairs even once.

Well, the alleged problems were media hype. The results finding no problems with Toyota's was barely reported in the main stream mass media. Associated Press carried the story, but many major news outlets didn't. The AP reported:

The Obama administration's investigation into Toyota safety problems found no electronic flaws to account for reports of sudden, unintentional acceleration and other safety problems.

Anyway, reports of alleged problems are just that: supposed; accused but not proven.

The test of time is the best judge, in my opinion, and the results of this 10-year survey are in: Toyota and Honda are the best cars made in the world.

Yahoo! Autos reports:

The Best of the best list guides you to the 2001 to 2010 models that scored well in our road tests when new and have been consistently reliable over time. Each has achieved multiple years of above-average used-car verdicts (available to subscribers), indicating that owners have had relatively few problems.

Models built by Toyota and Honda dominate the list once again, and many of the best used vehicles are from Asian manufacturers. But high-quality vehicles are available from domestic and European automakers as well.

The Worst of the worst list shows models that have had multiple years of below-average reliability in our survey. It is dominated by vehicles from domestic and European manufacturers, primarily General Motors, which had 16 of the 29 models listed.

Actually, it doesn't surprise me that there are no Japanese cars on the Worst of the worst list. I am, though, a bit surprised that there are so many lousy GM cars (Lousy? GM? Oh, but I repeat myself). And I am quite surprised to see that there are no Fords on the list.

I suppose the reason there are no Fords could be because they don't live past three years old. As they say, "F-O-R-D stands for 'Found on the roadside, dead."

Congratulations to Japan for still leading the world in building quality cars.

The proof is in the pudding. Japan may be the #3 world economy in 2010, but we're still #1, by far, for quality assurance and superior automobile manufacturing.

Marketing Japan: Apple iPhone 4 More Reliable than 3GS!!!...

By Mike in Tokyo Rogers

Well the results are in. Fortune magazine reports that customer satisfaction with the new iPhone 4 is a disastrously low 93%...

93%!? That's not low... That's great! Er, wait a minute. Let me re-check those stats... Let's see here. ...Yep. That's what it says, 93%.... 93% customer satisfaction!? That's great!

The article says:

"ChangeWave poll finds 93% satisfied with their new iPhone, down from 99% last year."

Yeah, I guess those are disastrous numbers.... I mean if you are a kick a*s company like Apple Computers. If you were most any other USA company like Ford, Microsoft, Chevrolet, General Motors, (your pet peeve American company's name here), you'd probably be happy if 60% of your customers didn't want to go postal on you at one time or another during the calendar year.

Yeah, disastrous. Last year's customer satisfaction with iPhone 3GS was 99%... I guess if they didn't hit 100% this year, it would have to be considered a failure.

Yeah right. Failure. Michael Jackson's "Thriller", the biggest selling album in music history, sat at number one on the Billboard charts for 37 weeks and sold more than 25 million records in 1982. Second only to West Side Story.

Jackson's following album, "Bad", only sold something in the neighborhood of 18 million records, so, I guess compared to Thriller, many people thought "Bad" was a failure.

Fortune Magazine surveyed 213 new iPhone 4 owners and the results were excellent. The biggest surprise was that, in spite of claims, the iPhone 4 was more reliable than the iPhone 3GS, when it came to dropped telephone calls than the iPhone!

"The biggest surprise, however, was that when iPhone 4 owners were asked how frequently they had experienced dropped calls, the results were actually lower than when iPhone 3GS owners were asked the same question last year: 5.2% vs. 6.3%, a 17.46% reduction in reported dropped calls."

Now isn't that a nice surprise!

I did write before that I thought it wasn't good that my hero Steve Jobs made excuses, but I am very happy to hear this news...

Especially since I nightly stick pins in my Bill Gates voodoo doll.

Good news for Apple. Now, for the next iPhone, let's go for 120% customer satisfaction! If any American company could pull that off, Apple can!
