Finally a FB Business Model That is Profitable? Prostitution, Online Porn Site and Dating Service?

There's something weird going on at Facebook... Well, who doesn't know that? But recently I've noticed something really strange.

You know that if you send out "Friend" requests to people you don't know, Facebook will lock your account, or even delete it. Before, I've had my account locked so that I couldn't add "friends" even though I hadn't been sending out requests.

But now? Something is really fishy!

In the last several weeks, I've been shown "offers" from Facebook to "friend" people I don't know, have no mutual friends with, nor can I even read their names! Lots of these "People You May Know" photos show pretty girls and they often show impressive cleavage and are in very seductive poses...

You know, like ads you'd see for online porn or "dating" sites?

I'm wondering if this is some sort of trick? Is Facebook trying to get me to "Add Friend" to these people so that they can shut down my account? Or is the CIA trying to trick me into some sort of international money-laundering sting? Is this some sort of trap for a prostitution ring? Or, is it more likely, just some smart Russian Pimp using Facebook to get his girls customers? Are these photos of these girls even those real women?

Anyway, I've been wanting to screen capture these for a while but keep forgetting... But I did last night. Here, look for yourself:

I'm sure they are all very nice girls. We've got seductive poses and even the "girl next door!" Oh! And there's even other nice girls who look like the "marrying type." I've blocked out their names because, well, maybe this is just a coincidence that this looks like a dating or mating or prostitution ad... But, then again, NO! I wasn't born yesterday! (I intentionally blurred out the name and these ladies eyes - Mike)

I am not insinuating at all that any of these women are prostitutes. That is not my intention at all. What I'd like to point out is how Facebook is presenting them. Why in the world is Facebook showing me a menu of people with the words, "People You Might Know" written above them when it is obvious we have no mutual friends and many of them don't even use the English language?

What sort of kooky algorithm is that? It's not me that is saying these women are prostitutes, all I'm saying is that they should be pretty pissed off at Facebook as to how they are presented to complete strangers

I also have nothing against Russian women. In fact, I think Russian women are quite beautiful! But I also know that there is a worldwide Russian prostitution ring running and it isn't a well-kept secret (gee, I guess if you are running a prostitution ring, then you wouldn't want it to be so secret that even customers can't find you!) And, probably most westerners don't know this, but, Russian prostitutes are very popular in Japan... You can see them everywhere in Tokyo on any night of the week and my friend, Kevin, who lives in Osaka tells me it's the same thing there.

Could the FB algorithm be set up to show these to men in Japan?

Could this be another use of Facebook that we're going to see much much more of in the future? Maybe. If Facebook started being used for dating and prostitution, then maybe they would have finally found a profit model that works!

* Note: Come to think of it, since I rail on Facebook so much as in Facebook Shares Plunge After Lock-Up Expires, maybe FB is looking for an excuse to cut off my account!!!...

Facebook is a Waste of Time...

I quit Facebook last night...

昨夜Facebookを辞めました。Facebookはすごく時間の無駄だと感じた。
PCに向かうより、外に出て本物の『ともだち』とリアルな時間を共有したい。

I know I said I woud do that before but I came back...

Really, though, Facebook is getting worse.... I hate placing photos of me and friends and then having some cretin insult my friends....

I'm tired of being invited to events and shows 6000 kilometers away....

......I'm tired of being asked to "Like" or "Share" photos of sick animals, the end of the world, nuclear disaster, diseases....

...I don't like being "poked" (whatever that means, anyway)....

..I don't want to see anymore pictures of people's stupid food..

I want to go back to living with real people in the real world...

...Facebook is a waste of time...

Japanese Pop Stars AKB48 Become Certified "Musicians" - Get Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame!

OK. That headline isn't exactly true. They didn't get a star in Hollywood. But, at this rate, don't be surprised if they do. AKB48 have done, in my opinion, the next best thing: They've been recognized as real "musicians" by Facebook and a heck of a lot of people.

If anything, the last description I ever thought would be used for AKB48 would be "musicians." But that's what they are classified as on Facebook. So, I guess that is like getting a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood... Well, sort of.

I suppose it must be a real honor for them to have this award bestowed upon them. After all, there are a many many young people who pick up and guitar and start a band in the hopes that they could someday be called, "musician" as opposed to just plain old "crappy" or "terrible."

I can think of lots of titles and descriptions I could use for a lot of these Japanese "Idol" groups and singers, but "musician" is just not one of them.

But there it is, plain as day on Facebook. And if Facebook says you are a musicians, then it must be true.

See? That just shows how much Facebook is F'ed up! It says that "18,658 people like this." What it should say is "18,658 people think they like this" or "There are at least 18,658 stupid people on the planet."

Oh, and I checked, yep. There's a whole bunch of these related AKB48 pages on Facebook.... They all say "musician." I'd have thought that there'd be a category for "Idol."

Facebook Birthday Greetings - The Real Way to Say, "I'm Insincere and I Don't Care!"

Really. I'm getting sick of Facebook in so many ways. Oh, let me count them...

I'm sick of people "poking" me. I hate it when people "Poke" me. What the hell is that poking business? What's that all about? It reminds me of the game "Ding dong ditch" we played as a kids on the neighbors. You know, you'd run up to the neighbors house and ring the doorbell and run away. They'd answer the door and no one would be there.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Yeah. Real funny... Yeah funny, if you are about nine-years-old. Don't poke me anymore. I don't like it.

I also hate it when people never do anything but click the "Like" button. What is that? You post an article about children dying of starvation in Africa or getting killed in wars or a new flesh eating virus that peels your face off and leaves a read jelly-like mess and people click the "Like" button? What's to like about that? Are people too stupid to make a comment?

Or do they really mean they'd like to have flesh eating viruses rip their flesh off their face? Not even a simple-minded comment like, "Yeah. What he said!" Or, something really insincere and useless like, "I hope things get better!" Have people become so stupid these days that the only reaction they can have is to consider whether or not they want to click a button? Oh, the choices to be made! How can anyone find the time? Really!

What's not to like?

I also hate Facebook birthdays. Nothing says insincerity and "I don't care about you at all, but since I am here anyway and wasting my time, might as well send you a birthday greeting - uh, how do you spell your name again? Never mind, it's written right here!" like a Facebook birthday greeting.

I hate it when I get the weekly Facebook notice that tells me that "You have 53 friends with birthdays this week." Who the hell wants to get a bunch of insincere birthday wishes from people who they probably wouldn't recognize if they walked by them on the street? I don't...

When it was my birthday last time, I got so many "Happy Birthday" wishes that it pissed me off going through them all and clicking, "Like" so that people would know I insincerely acknowledged their insincere wishes that I gave up after a while. Being so insincere to so many people is time consuming and exhausting!

Facebook has become the best (worst?) and most insincere way to send greetings of any sort. It really sucks and, instead of bringing people closer together, I suspect that it is actually pulling us farther apart and lowering the quality of our relationships. Good relationships require work and much effort... Facebook lowers the effort and time and thinking required... And that means our relations with each other are getting worse, not better.

You know, a relationship needs nurturing; like the flowers in a garden need nurturing. Just clicking "Like" is akin to remotely turning on the garden sprinklers in the garden: It is a great way for weeds to grow.

Nurturing the garden of love

If you really do care about someone, you'll send them a real card or call them on the phone. Sending a Facebook birthday wish, a Poke, or a Like, is the real way to show that you are insincere and don't actually care; you are too busy to be bothered.

People who do really care will admit that what I write is truth.

You won't be getting any birthday wishes from me. If you do, I'll really mean, "Happy Birthday." Which means I won't send those out through Facebook.

Happy Birthday and a big poke to my friend Garin Dart!
