More on Racism and Racial Disparity

More on Racism:

"Nearly 80 percent of the players in the National Basketball Association in 2011 were black, and 17 percent were white, but if that disparity is disconcerting, Asians were only 1 percent. Compounding the racial disparity, the highest-paid NBA players are black. That gross disparity works the other way in the National Hockey League, in which less than 3 percent of the players are black. Blacks are 66 percent of NFL and AFL professional football players, but among the 34 percent of other players, there's not a single Japanese player.

Though the percentage of black professional baseball players has fallen to 9 percent, there are gross disparities in achievement. Four out of the five highest career home run hitters were black, and of the eight times more than 100 bases were stolen in a season, all were by blacks.

How does one explain these gross sports disparities? Might it be that the owners of these multibillion-dollar professional basketball, football and baseball teams are pro-black and that those of the NHL and major industries are racists?"

Of course, the PC crowd will scream discrimination! How can this be tolerated?

I wonder if, on the locker rooms of National Hockey League doors, it says, "No trouble some blacks allowed"?

Oh, by the way, if you want to read more of the quoted article, by all means do...

It is on today's Lew Rockwell and it is an article entitled, "Stubborn Ignorance" it is about people who always scream about discrimination (yet wish for women to be treated better than men, or think the government has the right to tell you what to think or do - or who to associate with)....

The writer of this article is most probably a racist, right?

You'd think so. Anyone who'd tell the PC correct crowd that they were confused on their solutions for more morality or for justice, asks how they would hande the problems presented by the quote above.

The writer of this quote and article His name is Walter Williams. That's about a white sounding name as we can get, right?

Here is the picture of Walter Williams below:

An interesting read on LEW.
Fewer people of color in the NHL has to do with immigration factors, as well as monetary factors, but is changing as Canadian and American families of color become more North American and less 'ethnic' with each generation. Parents of color are now better educated than they were in the 60s & 70s in North America and thus have better paying jobs... and if the circumstances allow, more 'kids of color' are playing sports that were traditionally white.
Basketball... this is more about genetics. Teams don't care about color as long as you got game. In fact, in Toronto, we have an Italian, Spaniard, Lithuanian... and I've probably left someone out. The Spaniard is a little taller than me, but he can play. There are lots of 'white' Euros in the NBA... white owners, white fans, white and black coaches and mostly white players... but the predominantly white paying public only cares if their team wins.
Race is only important when you let it become important.
My dad screams racism every chance he gets... and he has vitelago (sp) and has lost every speck of color in his skin. he's not even white.
Me.. I've faced racism, but whatever... If I've got anywhere because of my color, that's news... it's neither been a hindrance or a boon.
But... a young Black friend of mine still gets stop for DWB - driving while black simply because he doesn't fit the cop's stereotype of person that should be in a certain neighborhood late at night.
I've not encountered that (being brown), but he is NOT the type to scream about racism ay all.
I think there are pockets of racism everywhere... there the odd racist in every office, but here in Canada at least, people keep their racist comments mostly to themselves.
In India, I think the Indians are pretty damn racist. The Japanese might be, too... The US has had its fair share of racism and has a lot further to go than most other countries.
Having said that, I am sure that there are many people at my work place who - until me - have never had a brown friend before - perhaps because their neighbourhood wasn't as integrated.
Hell... my neighbourhood - I'm still the only minority - been that way since 1973... but that's because my house is worth $650 Gs. Not many people - new immigranst, for example - can afford that... then again, the Chinese coming over are filthy rich and are buying $million dollar$ condos on the waterfront left, right and center.
Does any one care? No. Some people do, but are in the minority.
Sexism... women will take all they can get as far as having doors held open or seats given et al... afterall, until recently here in Canada, most women would be paid less for the same job as a man. That may still exist, but it's rare.
Good article(s), though.

And no amount of government legislation will ever change how people think... The more laws and rules we have, the less freedom we have. There will never be any way to outlaw racism, sexism or stupidity.... Let stupid, racist and sexist people do as they please. I will do as I please (like give up my seat to old people, even when most young people don't.....)

Right.I've been an OFW and racism is still an issue. I hope there could be a better way to address this.
