In the 1980's there was a guy named Beat Takeshi who made some of the funniest things on TV that I have ever seen. He's still around, but, after a motorcycle accident paralysed the right side of his face, he no longer makes comedies and just focuses solely on cinema.
The guy is very talented and has made some great movies.
In his comedy days, he had a show called "Takeshi's Castle" that made contestants do some pretty wild things in order to defeat the castle and win the game. After several serious injuries to contestants, that show was cancelled (I was on it once too - painful!)
During that time Beat Takeshi was Japan's biggest star. Here is a wild one that he made around those days that has guys playing soccer while wearing binoculars... You don't need to speak Japanese to understand this...
It is pretty funny... But alas, Japanese TV (all TV) is going the way of the dinosaur...
There are many reasons, but one of the big reasons (that even I fail to mention) is that all the creative, funny, and talented people no longer work in TV...

Stupid, childish, physical slapstick style humor at the same level as the 3 stooges. I'm still laughing! Actually, it's creative and pokes fun of a sport that many people take way too seriously. In that respect it's similar to political satire. Perhaps that's the beauty of this piece of work that seems, on it's face, to be so simple minded.
Yeah, Andy... The only thing that pisses me off is that they don't show the final score!
