Once again, the only thing I can say about the United States is "That place and those people have gone nuts." A judge in New York has ruled that a 4-year-old can be sued in court for negligence!
Madness.
From News Feed:
A New York State Supreme Court judge ruled this week that four-year-olds can be sued for negligence, citing years of legal precedent.
The case arose from a bike race in April 2009 between toddlers Juliet Breitman and Jacob Kohn. Under the supervision of their parents, Breitman and Kohn (both four at the time) were riding bicycles with training wheels down a Mahattan sidewalk, when they crashed into 87-year-old Claire Menagh. Menagh suffered a broken hip, and died three months later. Her estate sued Brightman, Kohn and their parents for negligence.

I left the USA in 1992 and haven't looked back once. Don't need that place.
Your right, people there are nuts.
Went back to Europe after having spent 10 years in Japan. There's a lot you have to give up when living in Japan. Fortunately these days are over. Europe is a great place to live, where people are less infantile and still have true/warm/authentic emotions. Much more space, different cultures, variety in many different aspects.
What do you expect from a country whose judicial system allows for stupid idiots who spill coffee on themselves and win millions of dollars from McDonalds?
